COACHING STAFF

Head Coach Leon Lifschutz joined the University of Vermont ACHA Div. II men's club team in 2021 after 9 seasons with the St. Michael's College NCAA Div. III women's hockey program. Additionally, Leon has spent time coaching varsity high school hockey in Vermont. Beyond his coaching resume, Leon owns and operates both Post2Post Goaltending and Light the Lamp Hockey School.

Off the ice, Coach Lifschutz has worked at the University of Vermont for almost 15 years and is currently a lecturer in the College of Education and Social Services (CESS). Previously, Leon led the UVM Club Sports Program. He resides in Essex, VT with his wife Sharon, his son, and their black lab.

Assistant Coach Michael Cunavelis joined our program in 2021, and also serves as an assistant coach for the South Burlington High School varsity hockey program. Michael played at the ACHA Div. II level at West Virginia University between 2014 and 2016. Off the ice, Coach Cunavelis works for Mt. Mansfield Media as a project manager and drone operator. He resides in South Burlington, VT.
